Trip to las torres del paine was an unforgettable experience. It is an ultimate heaven on earth. It is one of the place you must travel and see before you die.
Trip Preparations
On this occasion, as my main goal was to make the trek to the W, the best thing was to carry in a backpack comfortable and lightweight only the bare minimum for a journey that one must walk about 55 kms in 4 days. He had previously booked accommodation and some meals in the shelters.
Arrive Torres del Paine
I arrived at the Park for Laguna Amarga. From there I took a transfer to Refugio Torre Central (www.fantasticosur.com) located in the Las Torres. In the Shelter received me with a meal and an exquisite reponedora “Calafate Sour”. A drink based on this fruit of purple, typical of the area of Patagonia.
After dinner I went to meet the bedroom, where they share with people from all over the world. There are of all ages, all travel thousands of miles and are on this earth … the end of the world, and everyone has something in common: the desire to discover a new world, cover beautiful landscapes that unfold at the feet of Torres . That’s what everyone hopes also rest a little and carry the body of energy and it comes a new day, the first day of trekking.

El Refugio Torre Central was an excellent choice, there could enjoy a comforting rest and a nutritious breakfast, very necessary for daily walks that exceed an average of 6 hours.
Trekking Day 1: Refugio Las Torres Base Towers and Return (9 kms, 18 round trip)

In the first leg of the trek, I walked two hours to the refuge El Chileno, in the place I made a short stop and then continued walking half an hour more to the base of the Towers. It was a spectacular way, because the front was opened at its best a thick forest of beech. The day was rainy and cold. Although many would have thought the picture I thought it was terrible almost a dream. I started walking with a great desire, through this wonderful forest while the rain fell without mercy on my head and shoulders. I walked eager, sometimes I even run in my quest to reach the end.
At the end comes a promotion and I finally found at the base of the Towers. To my surprise the sky had settled clouds that covered the top of both. At first I was a bit disappointed but I went at once, as has happened in many other trips … well … nature is fickle, you can not predict … also knew this park had many other wonders that show.
After returning the same way I arrived at Refugio Torre Central ready to rest to regain energy.

Day 2: Hike from Refugio Refugio Torre Central Horns (11 kms.)

The second day of trekking made the journey between Refugio Torre Central to the refuge Horns. It was one of the most beautiful trails I have traveled in my life.

The picture that lay before me was an almost indescribable beauty. The intensity of the colors-the blue of Lake Nordenskjöld, who clashed sharply with the diverse range of green flora of the place, sometimes so strong that green seemed to be real, almost as unreal as the red of the flowers that are season gives Ciruelillo or Notro convinced me that he had been an excellent investment to have a good camera.

Also this time the weather accompanied me, was a relaxed journey in one day more than pleased.Along the way, I mean, walk about four hours, the temperature was nice, I could catch beautiful views of Lake Nordenskjöld, and hanging glaciers. The sky was completely clear, which allowed me to glimpse the Horns of Paine and two huge condors flying around. It was a majestic image.

Upon arrival at Refugio Los Horns told me I had to get shoes. I did it gladly, and went quickly. I immediately felt a warm place.
At 20:00 hours we were served dinner which consisted of a warm soup entry, especially to temper the body, then a meat loaf with mashed potatoes and for dessert a delicious meal with wine sauce, all homemade. I enjoyed it very much, all guests eat together. It was a great experience, I met people from around the world: Australia, Switzerland, USA, New Zealand, among others. I enjoyed sharing a Chilean wine with foreigners, also was an opportunity to practice other languages.

Day 3: Hike from Refugio Valley Horns to French and then to Lodge Paine Grande (15 kms.)
The morning of the third day of trekking began very early, had breakfast and went 7:30 a.m. type the path that led me first to the French Valley.
I started walking driven by power other. I felt I was walking with the rich soul, full …… I felt that this place was captivating.
To Camp Italiano, which initiates the entrance to the French Valley, walked two and half hours.Within the valley the day was cold and raining. The trip was to walk along the river also called French and then contemplate the glacier also carries the same name. While walking I experienced a show maybe something scary, there were a series of avalanches causing shuddering.
I reached the first viewpoint of the French Valley and decided to get there. I could not go further because it was snowing and the wind brought against the snow to my eyes, I could not look more.
I went down happy, and proud, was fulfilling my goals.
returned to Camp Italiano and started walking west, this time my target was to get to Refugio Paine Grande, at the foot of Lake Pehoe.
Upon arrival at the Lodge Paine Grande felt a sense of relief. The place was comfortable, warm, and rich food. I renewed my energy. I rested for the fourth and last day of trekking in the W. |

Day 4: Hike from Refugio Paine Grande Lodge Grey (11 kms.)
The last part has to consider the route from the Grand Lodge Paine to Refugio Grey … never felt so strong a wind and powerful, made me feel tiny, vulnerable. It was a walk I’ll never forget. After walking for three hours I reached the station where I was privileged to get on the boat Grey II, which runs the Grey Glacier and Lake. A hidden place where you really feel you are away, you’re south of the world.
When the ship completed its journey came to an even more amazing, a place where mountains, water, and sand iceberg melt in a shocking picture.

That last picture was in order and the dismissal of a magical and unforgettable experience, where nature is so unpredictable in its phenomena, impossible to predict as impressive and majestic landscapes like Torres del Paine.

Final Reflection about my trip
In Torres del Paine lived four days magical, unforgettable, who will remain forever in the memory. This experience meant to me growing in many ways: walked about 60 kilometers each achievement meant a satisfaction inexplicable met many people from different countries, which allowed me to open up to different cultures and worlds in the farthest corner of the world. And finally keep in touch with nature in its purest form: intense, unique, colors, sounds, tastes and sensations that only occur in Torres del Paine.
